Would anyone know where I might source a replacement 'spirit bubble' for this globe front sight?

Montana Vintage Arms in the USA and /or The Gun Room in Kitchener Ontario has them because the are the Pedersoli rep for eastern Canada. That looks like a MVA model 110 (IIRC) front sight. I had that same one on my Sharps and 1885s.

Yes I agree that it is a Pedersoli. It is identical to the one i have that came in the Pedersoli presentation box with the long range verneir. The vernier went with the Sharps action when I sold it but I held the front sight back because the same screw you are looking for had the knurled knob broken off (wife pulled the gun out of a sleeve case & that knob got hung up in the lining). I couldnt find the sight yesterday but now my interest is up & will spend some time today looking for it. I tried to match up that screw everywhere that might have one but no joy ( modeling supply hobby shops have worked before but not this time)

Good to hear that parts are found. Those sights aren't cheap and it would be unfortunate if you can't get it fixed.

I think you'll find they vary in size from manufacturer to manufacturer. The MVA I have is quite a bit smaller than any standard level I've seen .I was going to try and make my own. Finally I bought a spare with my MVA #113 sight but goofed on the dovetail size .Likely should put on the EE. Long and short try and figure who's sight it is, replacement likely $5.00or $6.00 US plus shpg ???????big ?????
 
I was going to try and make one but finally bought an MVA # 113 with a spare level [only to find I ordered wrong dovetail size...]It is considerably smaller than anything I could find in trying to make one. Likely need to ID maker and buy at $5.00-$6.00 US

Well, I did find my sight along with some good news & some bad. The bad news is that now, one of the level holder plugs has gone "walkabout" somehow so besides having to try to fix the adjustment screw, I now need to manufacture a plug. The plug will be easy , common 6mmx1mm thread appears to match...its that damn screw that continues to be a problem. For your info Re3liever, mine mike's out at 2.42 mm O.D. so could be 2.5 mm metric or #4 machine screw size with 40-48 threads. I'm having trouble determining thread count with a thread gauge...their so damn fine and along with cheap thread gauge & old eyes... I will have to make/devise some method to physically count treads over a given distance to tell for sure.

The "good" from yesterday is that while looking for the front sight , I found five Lyman/Marbles type tang sights & 2 long range Vernier's that I had forgot I had... old memory failure this time... that all need rifles attached to them... sure wish gunshows would come back...

Thanks for the info on the screw and if you decide you want to part with one of those long range Vernier's I might be in the market. I recently bought Spanish Oviedo (Remington) Rolling Block action that has a 45-70 barrel but no sights that's why I'm fixing up the globe sight. Waiting on some other parts from Ken Womack in the US right now.

I will correct my post #16...I managed to get a solid thread count and it is 56 tpi . both 2.5mm-.45 and #3-56 require the same drill, a #46. I think both will be so close to interchangeable that either would work. Anybody with a #3-56 shotgun bead thread tap could make a piece of brass doweling work very easily.
