hey guys,
i'm looking for a new stock for my savage, and trying to do it on a budget, so searching the nets i found this US company called richards microfit stocks, out of california, i've emailed them to find out if they ship here but got no responds from them yet, their stocks look great, their praises even with low canadian dollar, are good too, but...
had anyone delt with them?
or am i chasing a goose?
 
I have purchased from richards ,,they do ship to canada, my experience with them has been all bad , I ordered a grade 3 stock what I got was utility grade ,they got my money and would not answer my emails and the phone calls didn't Help!
Boyds have been very good ! Have bought several stocks and was allways satisfied
 
I got one Richards stock years ago. They were very generous. Enough wood came for two stocks. Spent lots of time rasping off the excess.
 
customer service at Richards is not great. they are always behind, and very hard to get on the phone or email. i have had some very nice successes with them but unless you are planning to have the rifle stocked in a year, don't go there, they are also terribly slow to ship out product. Boyd's has some decent prices and now with the options for laser checkering different pads and even some additional colors you could likely come up with a stock configuration that might even be close to unique

Same with me, the inletting was excellent but there were many hours of filing and sanding to shape it the way I wanted it.
