I used the search tool before creating this new thread and it hasn't helped alot. I am looking for a replacement stock for an m1 garand, various milsurps and other rifles. Is there a definate outlet or store within Canada that one could purchase stocks at somewhat like Boyds? I'd love to call up boyds and order from them but last time I did there were border issues.

Where do you guys get your stocks from?

There are many people here who have ordered from Boyd's with no issues. The export limit on firearms items leaving the U.S. to Canada has been raised to $500 before any permits are required, as far as I know.

With our dollar higher, you might as well order from Boyd's as opposed to paying a dealer in Canada to import it, jack the price, and then ship it to you.

before you go to Boyds, give Sarco or Northridge International Inc a look. I have ordered from both of these places without a hassle and the stocks are authentic. bearhunter

I called Boyd's about a week ago, (Actually they called me back:)) and I discussed the $100 limit vs the $500 limit and she said that they have discussed the matter alot and they are still of the opinion that they are limited to $100 without having to get an export permit. I agree with Bearhunter, Numrich has authentic M1 Garand stocks of varying quality that they are willing to send without the expense and hassle of a US State Dept. Export Permit if the order to Canada is less than $500. (I think Marstar has Garand Stocks as well)If you still want a Boyd stock without the expense of an export permit, the 3 piece stock can be purchased separately althought it would be more expensive having 2 separate shipments or purchase a complete unfinished stock from them which is less than their $100 limit. I agree, it would be great if there was a Canadian producer of stocks like Boyds but I think we are too small of a market to make it a feasable venture. :(

Unless of course, someone decided to tackle all things, ie; stocks, recievers, barrels, misc. parts, ect, and did it all for a bunch of different models.
