Sorry as to coming off as I bit of a jerk, I sometimes shorten my replies for the internet, to save time and sometimes miss seeing how it can be taken!

Now for the long answer! Yes, I love the idea of the CTAR barrels! But I am just relaying the message and obviously we dont want to draw any more attention to modern sporting rifles at this time, or any time...

 im not sure what your deal is? Do you think I am associated with NS? I think you owe an apoligy for being an ignorant prick as far as I can see.

P.S. you will learn to wipe your own ass when you grow up some day. Untill then you will only be able to dream of big boy pants, and I sure aint wiping it for you in the meantime. Your going to have a serious case of diaper rash. :p

But there is something wrong with handing someone a short barrel and saying "Go ahead and put this on your rifle! Have fun you kids!"

They could say: "Don't install this on your own! 'Cause it would make it a restricteduberbabyelephantsealkiller!"

Business ethics questions aside, my question is: "Is it legal to purchase a ctar barrel myself, and have it sent to me?" As i understand the laws, the receiver of the gun is the "gun". So barrel, no matter what the size, can be sold to whoever would like to purchase one. No license required. Is this the way the law works or am i wrong about this?

I'd be in for a spare nr barrel. But not if i have to pre-order. I can understand if Jon doesn't want his money tied up in inventory and just the same, i don't want my money tied up in pre-ordering something that i'll have to wait a year on.

Also, (shady speech alert) say you wanted to buy the ctar barrel but do not know if you ever want to install it. You just want to have it. If you ever wanted it installed you could then send it and the Tavor to NS for proper barrel installation and registration. Is it possible to buy a short barrel and not have it installed at NS right away but just shipped to you? Is it legal to do? Seems legal as far as i know but shady as #### and likelly not something NS would want to do. Just curious.

This was kinda my question to, as I was wanting one to put on a register for range trips during the winter, but then go back to NR and deregister in early spring. I know TV-Press-Pass does this currently and so do others. As far as I am concerned there is no worry so long as responsible owners do there part, which we do so long as we are properly informed about the regs that affect us... but responsible owners didn't stop the problems with the CZ or SA.

Thanks, I thought it seemed a little rash...

You must admit though that it has the potential of making the firearm even more misrepresented to those who choose what goes "bye-bye".

I do however see your point as well. But at least they are not out right saying "we will not make these available to you because of x or y Reason". It just has to be on NS terms.

Yes we all know that the firearms business community is terrified of offending the CFOs and therefore enforce laws that don't exist. The game is rigged. They have no choice but to obey their CFO masters. We have no choice but to buy what we can. Sucks but unless there is serious reform nothing is gonna change.
