T2 barrels were shortened at the breech. Reworking a standard M-1 barrel would involve shortening, creating a new shoulder, picking up the threads, making new breech face cuts, indexing and chambering. Probably opening the gas port. No idea who would be prepared to undertake these alterations.
It would be easier to install a new M-1 barrel, either 7.62x51 or .30-06, replace the operating rod, and alter or replace the stock. T2 stocks have been lengthened to work in M-1s.
Don't know where a T2 barrel might be found. Maybe Sarco, although they are on the wrong side of the razor wire.
Just checked. w ww. sarcoinc.com. T2 barrels listed a US$175.
