I am customizing a basic savage axis i bought, my buddy bought the axis II and i am inlove with the accutrigger, i have done some google homework and come up empty maybe someone here has done what i am asking. My question is does anyone know where or howmuch to get an accutrigger for the axis ? I tried savages website couldnt find anything and sadly when i called it was just after they had closed and not open until monday and my mind is very curious, thanks for reading and your input appeciate it!

Customizations ive done

current trigger Ive lightend up myself to make it more userfriendly
weighted / bedded the front area to help with recoil and stock flex but fixed at as awaiting a boyds At-One stock for the axis!
Burris zee rings
weaver axis single mount
Nikon prostaff 4-12x40 with flip up caps , awaiting sunshade in mail :D

plans to finish the customization :
Accutrigger upgrade hopefully (reason for post)
Bolt handle change, going to change the bolt handle when have some money as i would like a little longer of a handle although its not horrible i will eventually upgrade it

A gunsmith can tune the pre-accutrigger as good as any aftermarket for less then an aftermarket trigger cost.

The 2 gunsmiths I know around me say they don't do trigger jobs due to liability concerns but there are probably some that do do them. One just said go aftermarket and the other named Rifle Basix. I have the RB in my
Savage and I am really happy with it.

I put a Timney trigger in my kids axis a few years ago, took only a few minutes and was well worth the $130 or so. Not a big deal at all and you can adjust it any time you like. Rifle Basix is another good option as some of the other guys have mentioned here already.
