With a lot of the replicas this item is not an unusual point of failure, when the time comes I recommend using the replacement with the dovetail base. It requires some effort but the solution s superior to most factory installations. Here's a video of my recently completed repair.

Retreever: Many thanks! Nicely done. I didn't realize the lever latch post on these revolvers had such a weak attachment point. Was it originally silver soldered on? Or a friction fit? Your solution makes greater sense. Much stronger and more reliable.
