I would like to replace a factory recoil pad on a Rem 700BDL. Is there a recoil pad that will fit that actual gun. I don't want a grind to fit, rather a pad that is made for that gun. Thanks

Remington makes an aftermarket recoil pad for the 700. I believe it's called the supercell. you'll definitely be able to get one that fits the BDL. Most gun shops that I have been in carry these. Limbsaver also makes some models that are pre-fit to different stocks, but I've heard mixed reports about how well they actually fit

I have never seen a 'pre fit' pad that fit anything well... they may be close if the rifle has never been altered.

This as well. I recently bought a guaranteed to fit Kick Eeze for a Browning, it doesnt fit either screw placement or the width is fractionally off in the taper.

Save yourself a headache and get a grind to fit. Or if there is an exact factory OEM type pad that could work, but most dont seem to be worth buying.

Had the same problem with a limbsaver pad designed to fit a winchester mod 70. The screw holes were so off that it wasn't even close

I too have been mislead with 'prefit' replacement recoil pads (Parker Hale 'custom fit recoil pad' - not even close in any dimension). I mean, how friggin' difficult can it be to make one that actually fits the rifle it was designed to fit! Sounds like a good niche business opportunity here for someone who can read a measuring tape. Do I sound grumpy? :)

There's this way, or the long hard way to learn this way. Grind to fit is the only way to go.
