Replicating Federal gold metal match 69gn .223

I took my Savage LRPV 1:7 twist out yesterday to try out some re-loaded 77grain SMK/varget loads but also bought some 69 grain gold metal match ammo to make a bit of a competition out of it. Anyway I was just working at ranges of 100m- 300m and could not believe how well the gold metal match was shooting! I really could not tell any difference in terms of group size from my re-loads with the 77 smk's (minus a slight difference in poi). This got me thinking about trying to replicate the factory .223 69 grain gold metal match load using the Sierra hpbt bullet. Is anyone on this forum a few more steps down this path than me? Can you tell me what powder/ primer combo federal uses or the best available alternative?

I used 26gr Varget and a CCI BR4 primer with the 69gr SMK in once-fired FGMM brass. I was loading to the lands though.

I was going to use some lapua brass, br4 primers and hopefully something other than varget as I am almost out of it and it seems to be a laughing matter if I ask for it at the local gun shops. I was actually going to use a C.O.A.L the same as the factory stuff since my rifle liked it so much. Mainly wondering what powder is in the factory offering.

I couldn't tell ya what's in the factory loads. I got very close to the advertised velocities with the load I mentioned though.

It should go without saying, but obviously start lower and work up to that load with your rifle, checking for pressure signs!

(This has been your daily public service announcement from the Bureau of Daily Public Service Announcements.) LOL
