Reproduction Enfield Sniper Rifle Box

Just finished my reproduced Enfield No 4 Mk 1 T Sniper rifle box and thought you guys might like to see it. I built it from the set of plans that is circulating around the net right now and used salvaged hardware from No 7 transit boxes. What do you think?

Wow, thanks for all the great compliments guys!, didn't expect that, or so fast. My next project is a bren box and am working on getting some drawings and luckily have about 11 sets of hardware now. It has been a great project and along the way learned a lot about Enfield rifles and met some awesome people who have helped with this project too.

Well I assume you are talking about the No 4 Mk 1 "T"??, well to be honest I don't own one, just the plain one, wish I did. I started this project because I am an avid woodworker, have the equipment and so on. I thought if they were good enough, I could sell them at a gun show , to a couple of friends who do have the T rifle, or maybe even on a website someday, all to support my never ending habit of buying guns and militaria I don't really need.

If any of you have the "lust" for the T rifle, and have not already done so, go to milsurp.com and check out the Enfield section, it's awesome!

Funny eveyone is saying that, all my old WW2 buddies and various friends who have dealt with and seen these boxes and have seen mine are saying they are too nice. However I am a self proclaimed cabinet maker, and for me it's hard to build something that's not as perfect as my abilities will allow. Maybe I will take one outback and beat it with a chain for a while and see how it looks (LOL)

I guess the 4 screw hinge instead of the British 3 makes it officially a Canadian "repro" chest. :D

Badger's right. Using Cno7 hardware with 4 screw hinges means Canadian. Here's a couple of pics of a Canadian box, in case you want to change your markings to suit.

Beautiful job Rick!

This is for my No.4T. Will post a couple pix with the rifle and chest when it arrives.

I'm not worried if the markings and hinges don't jive. 20 years from now when it's all beat up I don't want anyone thinking it's authentic.
