If you want to preserve your aging original pistol grips, there's a company out of San Diego that makes excellent reproductions... highly recommended. Since we cannot post links to non-site sponsors, simply do a google search for "Vintage Gun Grips". Well worth the cost if you like to shoot your antiques, but want to preserve aging, potentially brittle, fading/browning grips.
