Reproduction M1A1 Stocks and other M1 Carbine questions

I have an M1 Carbine question..will the barrel band w/bayonet attachment, when put on a 19"{AO} barrel, can you still attach the bayonet? The extra 1", makes it seem it will not?
Any help is appreciated.
Also, I just read allot of No they wont ship, Yes they will ship {From USA}in this thread, has this been verified either way?

Thnx

The carbines I've rebarreled with 19" Criterion's will not allow the bayonet to be attached as the front sight block has also been moved ahead 1".

And I've ordered and received items for the M1 Carbine from the states on more than one occasion. My suggestion is try and place an order and see if they'll ship.

I wish there were bayonets on the market with extended locking lugs,

I did find something interesting, although it probably wont help. I read somewhere that there were carbines made by a company called HOWA machinery, and they were made for the royal thai police back in like the 50s and 60s. The barrel was keyed and a sleeve with the bayonet lug was pinned in place. Now if somebody made a clamp on version instead of a key and pin, that would be cool

That's one of the rarer carbine versions - the parts are interchangeable with GI, although there are a few differences, beyond the obvious.

A M1A1 stock may be great for the vintage look, but as a functional stock for regular use it leaves a lot to be desired. Wiggly and wobbly.

Thnx for the replies. I got a cheapie from Amazon awhile back. $25 range. M7 though. I dont see any cheap M4's like that. The cheapest I found is $50. As per..want to see how modding one/make a 'latch' to fit over w/ the 19". May be some not so sh*t looking way to do it. But def. want a cheapie repro to try.

numrich wouldnt ship me m1 carbine parts. just wanted hardware parts for the stock

I was able to get some screws and a bayonet lug from them. Only issue I had was canada post messed up my information and delivered it to the other side of the country :\

I think the Howa's came from Thailand at the same time as the Garand M1 rifles
The Garand's didn't have great barrels, bought a few them on a deal, one Winchester was 90% complete with a nice 1967 barrel
They were US Aid rifles
