Thanks for the suggestion!Zero experience but I remember looking into Pennsylvania hog hunts years back.
Just did a quick google and it appears it’s still a thing with outfitters listed. Not far from Windsor at all. Much less driving

My first reaction is no "high fence" hunts. Not looking for a 100% guaranteed harvest hunt, but something like 90% or higher success rate? We've hunted for years and are what I would claim are semi competent (deer, rabbits, ducks, geese, grouse, doves, squirrels, black bears). Hunting from 1/2 hour before sunrise to half hour after sunset is fine for us all. Thermocells, tree stands, blinds, etc all part of our gear. What sort of hunt are you looking to do? The places in AB and Sask are high fence hunts.
12hrs from Detroit will get you to Georgia. That's where I'd start my search if I was in your shoes.
r u some kind of a hypochondriac?This!
I have never seen a black bear without hundreds of worms, tapeworms, worms in the meat, worms just under the hide, worms everywhere!......
I would not eat any bear meat, period. I know lots of guys do, but no thanks. Even high country alpine bears were full of worms, maybe our BC bears are just wormy. Absolutely gross. I don't care if its its frozen for two years and cooked to a piece of charcoal, with all those worms, I guess this adds more protein. Trichinosis is another concern.
Wild boars, I don't know, I've heard lots of gross stories about worms, and they taste like sh1t and eats like grandpas ole' cowboy boots. Maybe some juvenile piglets would taste better?......
And now the CWD threat here in BC. Makes a guy wonder if CWD is even real, or is it another Covid scam to stop hunting.
Who knows now a days anymore.........
Not at all, I just do not like worms, period. Cooking doesn't always kill the worms or parasites.r u some kind of a hypochondriac?
salmon and tuna have worms too
pretty much everything edible has some
just cook it properly
As a veteran hunter, assistant guide, former taxidermist and a Natural Resource Officer, I have skinned literally over 150 bears in my lifetime. Only a handful did not have worms, yes we apparently have a wormy bear problem here in BC.I butcher my own bears and have never seen a worm. Not sure what is wrong with the bears you have. I wouldn't eat wormy meat either, but I don't believe that is a common issue with bears. At least not in Ontario.
cooking properly (like I have said) does kill all worms and parasitesNot at all, I just do not like worms, period. Cooking doesn't always kill the worms or parasites.
You do you and I'll stay away from stinky fish, pussy and wormy sh1t! LOL
Up here in the Yukon bear meat is great tasting and no worms or at least I never encountered them in bear meat or any meat actually. But yea bear meat has to be cooked through and through!!As a veteran hunter, assistant guide, former taxidermist and a Natural Resource Officer, I have skinned literally over 150 bears in my lifetime. Only a handful did not have worms, yes we apparently have a wormy bear problem here in BC.
I've tried non-wormy bear meat, it wasn't to my liking.
I am glad your Ontario bears are not wormy, I wish I could say the same out here in BC.
I have to wonder what the rules are for bringing uninspected pork into the country? Ag Canada has a phobia about pig diseases.Ya i recommend not eating boar or bear unless you like parasites hanging out your bum
