Hey guys, I just received back two of my Garands from Nick at Vulcan. These two rifles were in average and less than average condition until Nick did his magic. Metal was repaired and restored, new stocks were boiled and stained,

One is a May 1941 with new unissued 51 barrel the other is a 54 post war with 54 barrel. The 41 was a basket case. When I received the rifle it was complete with a crappy black plastic stock with pits from head to toe on the receiver, not anymore, now looks brand new unissued. I sourced and replaced the parts that were missing and or pitted and sent the whole works down to Vulcan. I am very happy!!!!

Here are some shots for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks,

The 41 was a real chore. Nick got it annealed to take the hardness out then worked out every pit, they were shallow pits, but they were everywhere. He then brought it back up to correct hardness for parking and final assembly.

I am not sure I would have that done to my gun, but I am sure, now, who I would get to do it. Without any explanation I would think those two rifles are new.

My '42 is at his place for a rebarrel and park as we speak. Looks like I made the right choice in sending it to him. I'll post pics when it comes home.
