Rescued some Shotgun ammo - What is safe to shoot?

Nothing there collectable my friend in shot shells believe me especially mastercraft.
Tons of them still around. These are not even old enough to be paper hulls other than a few imperial there.Shoot them all that are not heavily rusted. The two light green S&B's we would get at Kmart for 1.44 a box on 1.44 day. Those were the days.

Never seen Mastercraft shotgun shells. Atleast they arent jobmate shells :D

Holy crap how old are you guys, Man oh man do I ever feel old now.I am trying to think when I first used them 70's for sure:( All right all you guys over 55 chime in when do you remember using mastercraft. I know I still have some boxes full if I look.

Don't worry, I started out shooting MC.:)

Atom-the shells may not fire, or they may split the brass on ignition, but they will not harm the shooter.

Toss the rusty ones so the pressure doesn't embed the rust into your chamber and ruin an otherwise good gun. I would use the rest to shoot some clays but not trust 'em to game. I got some oldies just like those last summer and some even had black powder in em. I thought that was cool. A little before my time even. I tossed those too :)
The slugs should be ok too.

I started shooting Trap at CFB Cornwallis in 1984. I bought CTC ammo in the 20rd boxes at the Canadian Tire in Digby, NS. I bought a lot, and started reloading them. They were 'promotional' cartridges probably made for CTC by IVI or Winchester, depending on the year (that contract became so competitive that IVI actually lost money on it in 1985, and was hustled out of the commercial ammo business partly because of it).

I still have blue/red/orange 12 gauge CTC hulls in my reload pile.

Do you remember roughly what year, mid 70's maybe

We (my father) was still getting them in the mid-80's I believe. I remember buying a box when I was in high school, so mid-90s.

May have been small town back-stock though.
