I picked up one of these the other day from Wholesale Sports and was wondering if anyone had used them. It says on the back not to use HV ammo, but I won't be shooting it point blank so I was wondering if Velocitors and the like would be OK.

On the back of the box it says:
Do not use steel BB's, .22 hyper velocity, .17HM2, .17HMR, .22rimfire magnum, centerfire handguns, centerfire rifles, shotgun slugs or blackpowder guns on this target.

It also says not to use it under 25 yards. Who would use it that close, Mr Magoo?

I picked one up a few weeks ago. I got the champion's chioce one though. It takes hits from velocitors and stingers with no problems at 50 yards. I haven't tried it any closer than that. Hope it helps,

I got one of these resetting targets the other day and tried it at 25 yards and found that using standard or high velocity .22 LR that most of the time the targets won't even flip up though they make a noticeable clang when hit. Overall I was kind of disappointed in it. :(

I got one a month ago and it flips up fine if hit well, but often it will knock down one of the previously flipped up paddles. Mine doesn't have the stakes in the front like the one shown above so maybe that helps?
The one I've got is a Birchwood-Casey and I've been shooting it at 25-50yards with bulk Federal ammo(High Velocity Hollow point). The orange paper gets ripped off pretty quick and the paddles on mine are getting dents from the impact.
It's a pretty fun target to shoot I just wish the paddles would stay locked up better.
I did notice that the horizontal bar that catches the paddles on mine is not welded on straight so that might be part of the problem..... I think I'll try and exchange it.

I too have the birchwood-casey, it's pretty beat up now (put anoth 500 at it yesterday). it's vunerability is that the lower flippers are heald on with cotter pins that get shot off pretty often (misses or splater) but it is a hoot. I like the smaller versions they look a little more portable.

I put a couple of bad dents in it with federal 50 gr 22 mag ammo (50 yards), 17 hmr @ 100 did not seem to dent it more but @ 100 it's too easy with the hmr.

I tried it today and it works very well. I can't wait untill the trigger on my 7000 wears in a bit though.
