Anyone trim down their laminate stock to a slimmer profile? Have a nice stock that came with a recent purchase. It’s a Model 70 Featherweight and the laminate makes it more of a heavyweight. For me, the forend is too thick and round. Also, butt heavy. Just strip the finish and take a rasp to it and drill out the rear of the butt? Just wondering if there’s any issues with laminate compared to walnut? Thanks for any advice in advance.

Flapper sanding disc on an angle grinder and a rasp are your friends when it comes to laminate. A drill if your really looking to drop some weight.

Well that’s a weight loss program! I’ll start with the flapper sanding disc. I have lots and have used them for shaping a new recoil pad so you can go slow or aggressive depending on the grit. Thanks
