Resize NIB Lapua Brass?

I see Lapua recommends full length sizing brand new brass.

Just wondering if people bother doing this? Or just load and fire form?

Does it make a difference?

I always run new brass through the resizing die just enough to resize the neck. I've never reloaded Lapua brass, so it might be of better quality, but new brass often has dents in the neck.

In general I think Lapua does not require anything but reloading..

If it says so do so, who knows it might not chamber properly and you’ll have to pull bullets... And if you know about reloading you’ll know that pulling the bullet is just the beginning of the headache.

I do the same, primarily because I've seen slightly dented brass right out of the box. Lapua quality is excellent, but the OCD in me won't let me do it any other way.

I normally just neck size to iron out any dents or dings. Never had a new case fail to chamber.

X2!! This is all I have ever done, regardless of the source of my new brass.
Never had an issue of any kind. Dave.

Never have I done anything to new lapua brass. That is why I love those fresh blue boxes! after 1000's of new ammo built, not one issue. All my rifles have custom tighter chambers/necks

I did some testing once with two separate F-Class rifles and untouched Lapua Brass (actually I always champher the inside and outside neck radius), and fire formed Lapua brass in .308 with 155g Scenars and two different Vhitavouri powders (N140, and N150). There was no noticable difference in group size. Testing was done at 300m.

I do the same. Neck expander mandrel only.

I can remember reading it. I just checked the Lapua website and could find no such information. But I did find resizing new brass recommended on the Bullseye London website under Lapua brass. But maybe someone just decided to write that in the description for whatever reason.

As others have mentioned the only issue I see is the neck tension is really friggin tight. So if there is a reason that would be it I guess.

Agree. I know some people do but I've not done it with any of my new 338 Lapua brass and never had a problem. Lapua brass is head and shoulders above all other brass I've used though.
