Resizing 6.5x55 - necks cracking

Good ideas! I have a little unimat lathe, if smoothing it out a couple thou won't undersized I'll give that a try with some fine emery.

I'll try the bore mop too, that's a great suggestion.

I've had good results using a Q-tip with some lube on it for case mouths. The few cases that I've forgotten to lube the case mouth were definitely noticeably harder to size.
I use Lee case lube for the bodies, applied with finger tips, and RCBS case lube on a Q-tip for the mouths.
I've learned to use a bronze brush with a cleaning patch wrapped around it to clean the case mouths after sizing. If I don't, fine powder such as H414 will stick to it.
 
I lube the inside of the necks with powdered Graphite only. Never had an issue in 40+ years.
Motor Mica also works, but I think the graphite is slightly better.
I do not put any lube on the outside of the neck. A bit of the graphite will be there anyway.
I am a firm believer in Imperial sizing wax for resizing. YMMV. Eagleye.
 
I wonder about the die.
I have many Lee dies but....a friend of mine started loading for his .358 win using new Lee dies. The bullets would fall into the brass as you tried to lever them in (a BLR) and they would "grow" in a magazine as you fired.
He tried everything to get it to work properly.
I lent him my RCBS set and the problem was solved.
The Lee die was oversize.
