Resizing Brass

Or else just hang onto some of the .270 brass for when you find a '95 Winchester in .30-'03.
.270 is absolutely perfect for making up .30-'03: just expand the case-mouth.
That's if you are "into" fun old-time rifles.
A GOOD dial caliper or a micrometer is necessary if you are doing case conversions. In the instance of converting the .308 into .243W, likely it will be easier with commercial brass than if you are trying to re-use military brass. Take your micrometer and MEASURE the neck of a factory .243 case after it comes out of your FL die and the neck has been expanded by the expander button, then set the mike at .002 HIGHER than that and lock it. Then you pass each converted case through the mike after the expander button has passed through it. Any that won't pass through easily are candidates for reaming or turning, whichever method you are using. Generally, you won't run into a lot of trouble.
I once had a nasty, ugly job to do: convert 2000 once-fired military .308 cases to .243W.... and they had to function perfectly in a semi-auto! So....... FL size, then small-base size so that I didn't have to hire King Kong, then neck them, measure, ream, resize and (finally) load 'em up.
