I have 100 primed ,neck sized cases measuring 2005.ive sold the 308 rifle that they were prepped for. Should i remove the decapping Pin and full lenght resize for the New rifle.

I guess I could wait until I get the new rifle back from the smith. To resize them all would be a pain as I guess I'll have to lube them again and not get any on the primers.mor I can just resize them as if once fired , it's only a pack of primers gone.

primers are cheap, if they dont chamber, id treat em like once fired and knock em out and start fresh, just my humble opinion :)

there's an understatement. I asked if the old lady wanted to learn how to resize brass, she looks at me, then the pile and back at me and politley told me to fck right off.

I have decapped and re-primed using the same primers without any issues. More than I like to admit it, I've had to pull and resize 100 FC brass after annealing and not FL sizing. All 100 primers were reused without any issues.

Even with the lube ,they were still good?

Same here. I'd do as bsand suggests. While I don't know what technique you use to apply lube, I just roll the brass on a lube pad with a tiny bit of lube. There is very little risk of contaminating the primers with lube.

As others pointed out, try the brass in the new rifle when you get 'er back and you might just get lucky and they chamber. If not, a 100pcs ain't too bad. Use a decapping die and carefully pop the primers out and save 'em for later. Resize your brass and clean off the lube then reload 'em. Wear glasses and ear plugs when decapping live primers just in case you set one off and scare the poop outta ya.

If it was me, I would wait for the new rifle. the brass might fit. It is ok if they chamber with a little resistance.

Modern primers had a lacquer seal on the compound. you could not contaminate them if you tried. Try it with some oil. Spry a few and then seat and fire in the basement. Loud, aren't they?

if you have to FL size them, put the decapper rod and lube/size the cases.

May not have to worry about it now as due to unforeseen circumstances I have to sell the rifle parts. Anybody wanna buy some primed , neck sized cases... :)

Just remove the decapping pin and resize.

I have resizes loaded .44-40 cartridges, loaded with black powder and lead bullets.

I coat the cartridge with Lee's resizing lube and wipe it off afterwards.
