Target Sports set up a booth about 4 or 5 years ago. However, we took so much grief from 1) The CFO and 2) The organizers because of the restricted and black guns that we have not gone back.
I recorded an episode of the podcast at the Sportsmen's Show last year. There were restricted firearms at the show and they were all at the CSSA booth. The CSSA was doing a spotlight on IPSC as a shooting sport and pistols were on display.
I know that Al Flaherty's sells pistols and they had a booth at the show - but sadly no pistols on display. It seems they have had the same problem with the people in charge of the show. This is a very sad situation.
Meanwhile there were booths full of airsoft guns that looked like MP5's, G36's, and AK-47's. Does this make any sense?
If it truly is the "Sportsmen's Show" then all sporting arms should be allowed. Why does airsoft get a free pass? Strange stuff.
The people who run the show are really missing out. T.I. would be a great asset as would Target Sports. The show needs some life injected into it. Variety would be a good thing.
unbelievable!
Time for a cgn dealer show. F-em!

Bearing this in mind JR, is there a way to go over the CFO's head and lobby for their removal for dereliction of duty or abuse of power? Their job is not to hamstring firearms owners, but to facilitate safety; we all know they get a little too big for their britches. Hamstringing them with a pile of onerous paperwork and arbitrary decisions made to their detriment would be poetic justice.
As for the original topic, these show managers are encouraging prejudice against the segment of the firearms community who like 'black guns'. It's important that we let them know that a significant percentage of people who like traditional looking hunting firearms also
purchase and collect black guns. To play the role of a divisive entity is not in the best interests of the law abiding firearms owner. It is the classic divide and conquer and reminds mr of that
classic short tale:
"First they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the communists and I did not speak out because I was not a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.
And then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me"
It's the best explanation I can think of regarding the phrase "United we stand, divided we fall". Those trade show clowns should stop trying to divide us based on their own naive ideologies. Do they support the hunting and firearms community, or simply put up with us to the extent they can make a buck off of us?
