Tactical import. I have never been to your store front or have never checked out your website untill today. You got some cool ####. I had plans for a van load of friends to make the 3 hour road trip to the show. The decision to not allow you a booth pisses me off. We will not be going to the unsportsman show this year. Thank you for posting

I will not attend! I will also make sure non of my friends who wanted to go find out how lame it will be and they also will not attend!
I will send an email when i get a chance.

Target Sports set up a booth about 4 or 5 years ago. However, we took so much grief from 1) The CFO and 2) The organizers because of the restricted and black guns that we have not gone back.

Bearing this in mind JR, is there a way to go over the CFO's head and lobby for their removal for dereliction of duty or abuse of power? Their job is not to hamstring firearms owners, but to facilitate safety; we all know they get a little too big for their britches. Hamstringing them with a pile of onerous paperwork and arbitrary decisions made to their detriment would be poetic justice.

As for the original topic, these show managers are encouraging prejudice against the segment of the firearms community who like 'black guns'. It's important that we let them know that a significant percentage of people who like traditional looking hunting firearms also
purchase and collect black guns. To play the role of a divisive entity is not in the best interests of the law abiding firearms owner. It is the classic divide and conquer and reminds mr of that
classic short tale:

"First they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the communists and I did not speak out because I was not a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.
And then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me"

It's the best explanation I can think of regarding the phrase "United we stand, divided we fall". Those trade show clowns should stop trying to divide us based on their own naive ideologies. Do they support the hunting and firearms community, or simply put up with us to the extent they can make a buck off of us?

I recorded an episode of the podcast at the Sportsmen's Show last year. There were restricted firearms at the show and they were all at the CSSA booth. The CSSA was doing a spotlight on IPSC as a shooting sport and pistols were on display.

I know that Al Flaherty's sells pistols and they had a booth at the show - but sadly no pistols on display. It seems they have had the same problem with the people in charge of the show. This is a very sad situation.

Meanwhile there were booths full of airsoft guns that looked like MP5's, G36's, and AK-47's. Does this make any sense?

If it truly is the "Sportsmen's Show" then all sporting arms should be allowed. Why does airsoft get a free pass? Strange stuff.

The people who run the show are really missing out. T.I. would be a great asset as would Target Sports. The show needs some life injected into it. Variety would be a good thing.

Maybe send an email with a link to this video (which has been posted on CGN in the past):

I know that it is an American video and AR15s are not allowed for hunting in Canada, but the video is still informative.

"FAKE-SOFT Guns?" We can't even buy an all black version. But no, there is an underground market where you will have to pay as much as the cost of a real firearm to get an all black version. They allow BBs and Pellet gun which are more dangerous than these Airsoft guns. Same s***t! Now the long guns registry is gone, I hope a liberalized (sorry, not the political party) restricted gun law follows soon.

Or go after there wallets

send an injunction, go legal against them.

say by discrimination which decrease your visibility in the greater Toronto

which translater to a loss income of x thousands dollars ( the project profit from the event).

they got 2 choices: let you have your booth

otherwise you will take legal action so they pay for your expected profit

I sure we got a few lawyers in the forum who can help

Dear Managers,
I was very shocked and disappointed to hear that you rejected Tactical Importers form the sportsman show. I find it particular disappointing that you acknowledge that these guns can be used for hunting. Yet you forbid them from your show based on their appearance.
As hunting is mostly a late summer to late fall pastime, sportsmans show should be exibiting options for year round enjoyment in shooting sports. This would include shooting sports that involve the use of handguns.
Instead you succomb to your personal fears of what people fearful of guns will think of these scary looking guns being at your show, & perpetuate their fears. This is a missed teaching moment, more importantly a missed revenue moment.
As I am sure that there are more people who will stay away from your show, since you will permit so many non sports related exhibits, scam raffles, or just too many exhibits showing more of the very same things.
Do you ever visit Michigan sports shows? Do you see people shreiking in terror at the black rifles? Anyways thanks for producing the sportsmans show, but I will not attend this purposely closed minded event.
Rgds,

Hello Mr. Ostapchuk,

I was planning on attending the upcoming Toronto Sportsman Show with my family. We enjoy hunting, fishing, ATV'ing, snowmobiling and shooting sports. Based on some recent information I've read regarding your vendor policies which discriminate against firearms that don't look like hunting firearms, I've decided we won't be attending. So many vendors at the show have absolutely nothing to do with hunting, fishing etc., so it is a shame that you are unwilling to support the shooting sports businesses that are still able to operate in the GTA area. Hopefully you will reconsider your position.

Sincerely,

A Canadian equivalent to SHOT show is sorely needed. There is definitely money to be made there for all involved. I know a crapload of people that would go if there was only a show for them to go to. Vegas is a bit far for most people.

Hello,
It has come to my attention that because Tactical Imports deals in "Black Rifles" and " rifles that are not destinctly for hunting" that they are not welcome at your so-called Sportman show. I have been attending for many years, but I assure you I will never be attending again. Target shooting is a legitimate sporting pass time in Canada and enjoyed by millions. It would seem you would rather pander to the inner city bird watching, paintball crowd than true Sportsman. I would suggest you change the name of your shows as they are miss leading and an insult to open minded Sportsman every where.

Good Day

"I think your decision to ban tactical looking guns at your is ridiculous. The .223 caliber that the AR-15 uses is very well suited to hunting varmints and is wildly used for this purpose. There are a variety of guns in this calibre that used for just this purpose and the very popular 7.62x39 used in the AK-47 has ballistics very similar to the .30-.30 and is widely used to hunt deer. Why do you care what a gun looks like as opposed to what it be used for. What are you afraid of?"
