Hey guys... treated myself with a nice new rifle for xmas and unboxed it today.

I ordered it from a site sponsor here, not gonna name it. I'm awaiting their reply on the mather.

I bought this nice Savage 10TR and when I unwrapped the bolt I found that it had lot's of wear on it for a new item.

Keep in mind it's my first time buying a rifle brand new and am wondering if it is normal for them to look like that

Here are the pictures of the wear on the rifle

Wear on the bolt
Wear on the receiver
Wear IN the receiver / feeding ramp
Rail screws are beginning to strip

Definitely some use happened there...is that rust too?

looks like it...

Maybe it was a demo rifle they sent by accident. Contact the dealer before flaming on the board. See how they fix this.

That is why I did not and won't say where I bought it. This post is not meant to flame on them but I wanted other opinions as of if it was normal factory tested wear of used wear.

Used rifle for sure !!

Hopefully they make it right to you but selling a used rifle at a new rifle price is shady as ####

That is not a new rifle...

+2

I see alot of used Savage rifles on the EE that looks like gems compared to this rifle.

I hope you will have a full refund or a replacement.
They should also refund the shipping for the return.

Lots of bad juju around those 10TR rifles....

The first one was nice...
IMO Savage quality and quality control is not what it used to be.

Definitely a used rifle, no doubt about it. Like it's already been mentioned, perhaps it was a demo that was shipped to you by mistake? Hopefully you're able to resolve this with the dealer!

I hope they do make it right... reallllly disapointed right now :/

Did you get a kiss before bending over

nope.. they even threw some sand before. took 8 days more than supposed to arrive here and now this..

I can't believe how rough the chamber mouth is.
Wete the barrel and chamber clean?

barrel ''looks'' clean but I havent passed a patch in it either. I don't touch the rifle until I here back from them

No-no... everything is OK... With the new US regulations and UN regulations, rifles need to test fired and shipped with 250rds empty brass when they leave the factory. Everyone who handles the rifle need to keep one piece of brass for further inspection and another 10 pieces each needed to be sent to the FBI/CIA/ATF/CSIS/RCMP/UN...

:yingyang:

Kidding aside, I hope it was an honest mistake and the store makes it right.

Why post this now ? You want a bunch of us on the internet to say "it looks used" ? Why not wait till the dealer responds and then - if not satisfied - consider making this post because then, at that point, you would have something newsworthy to say.

Its got a few boxes of ammo through it, not just a couple rounds. Just send it back.

Defiantly USED
