Hey I have an enfield, mosin and a swiss K31 kicking around. Ive found a few basic things like Canadian forces manuals etc for shooting but was wondering if anyone can recommend any good dvds, websites, youtubes, etc..I have ton of reloading to do but I wanna make it out to the range in the deep freeze and have something to work on.

Dry fire. Get yourself a downsized target and practice taking aim, shooting and holding your position after the shot.

I learned to shoot with a single shot .22 then learned how to shoot really small groups in cadets with a .22 Anschutz with the shooting jacket, glove and sling. It is a great place to start and in reality it allows you to learn to shoot without the risk of developing a flinch.

I am really, really thinking about picking up a .22 SCAR clone as my new plinking and training rifle.

You can't learn to shoot unless you have an accurate rifle with accurate ammo and shoot it in a way to maximise the accuracy.

Dry firing is as good or better than live shooting. You have to train your subconsious to fire the perfect shot - every time. All technical tasks are done by the subconsous mind.

Think of how wobbly riding a bike was in the beginning or how tedious it was to tie your laces in the beginning. Once your sub consious learns how to do it, you get good.

Elite shooters trust their subconsoius to break the shots. This will happen between heart beats. If you don't think this is important, aim a rifle with a 20X scope one day, and watch the rifle jump each beat.

If I was going to train you to shoot, I would use a quality 22 target rifle, good ammo, and a bench at 50 and 100 yards.

Im listening- picking up a nice cz 425. wish me luck

I train with a CZ452, what a wonderful piece of gear! I added a Reupold (chinese fake leupold) and it kinda resembles my PR rig.

Whenever I can during the summer, I train at 50m and 25m shooting the broken bits of clay bird(s) found in the sandy backstop of our range. ;)

Cheers,
Barney
