I had the prefilled bags from Caldwell. They were ok until they got rained on. The next day, the fill had expanded so much that the bags busted open. Got the full set of JSA bags. They're perfect!
great idea, am not sure what would be the cost for the gravel though.
as per calwell bags, the filled ones are filled with cob corn https://www.amazon.ca/Calwell-93933...=UTF8&qid=1462338311&sr=8-2&keywords=caldwell. i was thinking to save the airsoft cost which i think will be around 20$ and instead buy the cob corn from wallmart http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/hartz-corn-cob-bedding/6000001832757 . I am not sure how much i need.
I prefer Airsoft pellets, they're cheap, won't smell or rot, and you can get different weights.
OK, what about fish aquarium gravel that you put one the bottom of an aquarium?
$8.99 for a 10lb bag at Petsmart. http://www.petsmart.com/supplies/gr...JSR1pQrPEU6MnVN?var_id=36-17567&_t=pfm=search
Hey guys~since I'm about to ask a question in a new thread, I thought I'd chime in on this one to generate some good will.I just bought a set of bags from Don, and from what I've read...they're the best; http://www.dog-gone-good.com/ Very nice fellow, and from what I gather...he's the one that makes bags for Sinclair, Brownell's, etc. Very nice man. Anyhow, after having this discussion with him re: fill, he said he uses beads from a plastic recycler. I called around/asked around and found a plastic place that sells "polypropylene re-grind". Since I got the sense they sell it by the truck load, I sweet-talked them into filling a box with about 30 pounds for me. BOY are they perfect. Very heavy, flowed easily through a small kitchen funnel to fill the bags, very heavy, clean, etc. etc.
I have enough leftover that I plan on making some simple/smaller bags out of the pant legs of some old camo pants I have laying around.
If anyone would like to see a photo of the bags, the fill itself...I can snap a few photos later tonight, and post them here.
these guys seem to have very good quality bags. however it will cost me more than what i want to spend especially after adding shipping costs. my slogan is price and quality.
nice, they are cheap. i am now leaning towards going with gravel now. so its going to be 26 +8 =34$. not bad. going with pellets would pump it at least 10$ more.

Mine is "buy once/cry once". lol But yeah, I hear you. The Caldwell ones look OK too. Saw them in Bass Pro.
I've used dried lentils in some of mine. Never had a problem, but never got them super wet or anything.
Thanks,
Cal.
you can buy that same set filled from Cabela's right now for 49.99$
