So I have a Savage 110-FCP that currently has the HS Precision stock on it. I have rebarrelled it to a 338 Improved and the OAL exceeds the max COAL of the magazine so the current bottom metal is useless. The magazines had to be cut to feed the modified shoulder of the improved round but the OAL of the 300gr bergers is just too long. I have been wondering if it would be possible to restock the rifle with a Manners or McMillian stock and utilize the Wyatts Extended internal box magazine which allows a total COAL of 4". I don't really care if it will only feed 2-3 rounds, but the action is a repeater. the HS does not have a high enough comb or a long enough pull so the stock needs to go. I contemplated an XLR Chassis, but I don't know if it can be machined to modify the action to be a single feed or not.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Here is the same rifle in a McMillan A-5. It is inletted for the 110FCP factory DBM, but when ordering you can specify any commonly available DBM for that action and they likely have a program.for it.

Ya, I figured any DBM would be possible, I just wasn't sure about an internal box magazine like the Wyatts. It would allow a significantly longer OAL. Where did you get your Mcmillan from?

Ordered Direct from McMillan. It just so happened it was instock on the specials page so no 4-5 month wait. I've ordered several over the last few years, 6 to be exact. Its a tough wait, but always been happy in the end.
