A Model 61 is worth a good sum of money it seems. The furthest I would go in restoring is stealthily removing surface rust if there's any. You could also forget restoration and just take care of it with love and a slight bit of oil. Whatever you do, don`t remove patina and refinish the stock, or John Moses Browning will haunt your house.

As for the ''Remington''... can`t say much without the model.
