Hey all!
Do any of you know a legitimate place in downtown Toronto that offers the restricted and unrestricted gun license courses? One that is easy to get to by public transportation is a plus! I don't drive.

Welcome aboard! There was a place in Scarborough at one time that did the courses, unfortunately I can't remember the name anymore.

2 things...
1) what an incredibly rude thing to say
2) their is no reason you could not take a restricted on the bus to a range, as long as it it the most reasonably direct route and it is being transported in accordance with the regulations you should be good to go.

Thanks!!! I didn't know you MUST have an ATT to get a restricted? So, there is no point of getting a restricted one if gou can't get an ATT? I want the option of it though I don't want to join a gun club right now. Do you have to retake the tests every few years? And, is it true the RCMP come to your choose after you apply to check where you store your gun? Sorry another question: what are the other reasons one can be denied besides having a record? I don't want to spend money and then get denied. While I don't have a criminal record I have been involved with police stuff before.

You can buy and keep restricted guns as a collector, or as a target shooter being a member of a club. Get your restricted pal first and then worry about what you want to do.

I thought I couldn't get my restricted without getting tbe unrestricted first? I'm confused.

You can get them both together, most places do one course on a Saturday and the other on a Sunday. After your test, you submit the paperwork and wait for your card to arrive in the mail.

I looked at Sportsmen and Tactical..so if they teach the course they will test me too? Do you know if they are official teachers and testers? So, if I go for a restricted how do I know whether it includes the unrestricted?

Is it true the RCMP will come check if you are storing your gun properly?
