Sorry if I have asked a similar question before I cant remember if it was this forum.

I was wondering do you have a list of restricted Airguns anywhere for Canada??

Or even a list of airguns that are allowed?

I will be getting a RPAL.

I have quite a selection of airguns and was deciding which to sell and which to keep.

It would be no good for me to keep any I cannot use when I do move to Canada.

My main concern is built in shrouds and silencers as I know these are a no no in Canada.
(4 of my guns have these)

Thank you.

There's no list of what is allowed. If any air gun meets the criteria below, they're treated just like a regular firearm. Can't imagine why an air rifle would need a suppressor, but they're illegal, period.

This is the important part and it's according to the manufacturer's specs.
"muzzle velocity (greater than 152.4 meters or 500 feet per second) and a high muzzle energy (greater than 5.7 joules or 4.2 foot-pounds)."

Hi Murphy,

I remember you from the BBS, still in Wigan or made it to Calgary at last?

I move to Canada from the UK some years ago, and I found it tricky with my modest collection. Fine if you have a simple break action rifle or one that was never originally sold with a silencer. Therefore problems with Falcons / Theobens and Daystates! Although my Webley Spectre (FX) was no problem? And the ProSport is a no hoper due to the integral silencer.

In short, it was not easy, which is ironic considering what I now own on the centrefire and pistol front!

If you want to pm me your list, I'll give you a hint as to which I think maybe a problem.

Candocad.

I have these documents.
Can not remember where I got them from.

The list for the status of various guns in Canada is the Firearms Reference Table. I believe it is maintained by the RCMP. They will not release the list as it is always subject to change (as new guns are added or they arbitrarily change their minds), and they do not want to give the impression that it is static.

If you want to check you guns, you can call the Canada Border Services Prohibited Importations Unit at 1-905-625-7942. (I think this is their Ontario office.)

Explain your situation and ask whether they can look your models up in the Reference Table. They have been helpful for me when I have imported items in the past.
