Just wondering if Non-Restricted AR's exist.... If it comes down to barrel length for non-restricted is the 20" the shortest you can get? Could you please name a few Non-restricted makes and models and barrel lengths if possible... Please excuse my ignorance on this, I'm a bolt action and pistol guy

Look in the Black Rifle Forum. There is a good sticky that shows the available non-restricted AR-ish guns available.

Also if your not against 22LR, there is the Colt M4 .22LR. Have seen them advertised in some websites.

SIG makes a nice .223 cal carbine that is non-restricted. You can't get all the cool stuff for it like an AR, but it looks good and you won't need an ATT for it.

M4 won't come out until June... Wolverine

Now as for that sticky, where is it... I am blind I know.

OR if you create a lower that is not AR-15, but can accept AR-15 upper, you can get a non-restricted equivalent... e.g. use SKS receiver and modify it. (spoke to CFC about it)

AFAIK there is no official confirmation that the .22 M4 will be non-restricted. The wording of the original OIC seems to imply that it would be restricted, IMO. And as we've seen with the VZ58 and T97 debacles, even following the letter of the law is no defense these days.

Please continue... I want to know more.
