Not sure if this is the proper forum.....

I am considering moving from Manitoba to NW Ontario. Was wondering if there are any gunranges that allow restricted weapons. I will be in Rainy River, any ranges nearby or in Fort Frances?

I have 8 restricted weapons, is moving to Ontario with them going to be full of bull####? Here in Manitoba law abiding citizens are allowed firearms and permits are issued easily. What is the political climate in Darton McGuinty's upotia? Will my guns become safe queens due to the authorities not wanting to issue transport permits in their leftist heaven?

From everything I have heard, Ontario is the last place in North America a gun owner would want to move.....maybe California????

Any comments suggestion or contacts would be appreiciated.

Thanks CGN's

EDIT: Oops... My eyes saw NW but my brain acknowledged that as SW. Ooops... I think you'll be in the good shape around there. Marjoity of Southern Ontario gun clubs full of BS rules.

If you ask me, Cali is bad (if you live there), but no where as bad as Bantario or Canada for that matter.

If you're going to locate near Niagara Falls (if that is considered western). Silverdale is the place to go. I'm sure there are others in Southern Ontario, but Silverdale is the only one I know that has no BS. I don't know why other clubs cannot do the same.

Ya there is a range in Fort Francis or at least I have been told there is. I also know that there is one in Dryden, and one up in Sioux lookout. One thing you should know in Ontario LTATTs are issued through your club of choice. So you will have to be a member, and undergo a range orientation and safety training before you will get your LTATT.

BTW if you are who I think you are you will recognize my user name

My question is... Why in the world would you move to the neighbourly T-Bay area? :p

Maybe he likes to stay hidden to the world, as you know it goes Manitoba right to Sudbury, there is nothing in between.

So to answer your question, no there is no range there cause it does not exist.

Never considered moving back to Ontario and their political climate, however I would like to be closer to my elderly parents and a girlfriend is in the picture too.

I like the freedoms of the west, moving back east is going to test my patience.

I did talk to a fellow in Fort Frances, there is a restricted range there that I would be able to shoot all my evil rifles and handguns.

I will miss the freedoms us in the west enjoy, I will really miss sitting in a farm field blowing up gophers the most.

Just happy I have place to train if I move back to Ontario.
