If you were to have a restricted ar15 such as a m&p15 what’s stopping you from disassembling and reassembling onto a Maccabee defence slr receiver.

Nothing. Thats the point of MDI or ATRS offerings.

Just like all other semi-auto center-fires, it's status will depend on barrel length.

Thats what everyone is doing now. Not just macabee receiver. Atrs as well.

Go atrs if you got the money. Having owned the first batch of maccabee, and owning a restriced atrs billet lower. I will say atrs comes out on top in both fit and machining.

Not much go for it. Just make sure it has a non-restricted length barrel.

As long as it's a +18.6" barrel, the only thing stopping you is your wallet.

Atleast that's all that's holding me back from swapping my 20" rifle over.

Barrel length and funds. That's about it. The receiver sets alone cost more than a lot of complete ARs.
