Restricted transfer times in ON

I'm on Day 15 of a private transfer from Quebec to Ontario (I am buyer) and according to gentleman who answered at Ont. CFO office, they do acknowledge its with them, all is OK, and no further info is needed. The transfer however has not even been assigned to an officer to handle yet, and guy on phone was also unable to quote me a time when it might get looked at... but told me it could easily be another 3-5 weeks... <<SIGH>>

My xfer went through, exactly 7 days after it was submitted. It would been faster if the seller called in when they were supposed to do so.

I've had excellent results here in BC over the past few years. Last transaction in April/May was something like two or three days, and was emailed to me complete with a 30 day STATT

My transfer just completed BC to Ontario in 14 business days. The email notification did not work, I ended up finding out 5 calendar days after the fact. What a #### show.

I'm a first time out of province buyer. Took advantage of the 12% deal. So, which CFO office in is charge of the transfer? BC or Ontario? Judging from what I've been reading, if Ontario is in charge, I need to prepare myself for a wait. BC, (knock on wood) is pretty quick.

Ok, so far based on the info, you guys are calling the RCMP Canadian Firearms Program center, not the Ontario provincial CFO directly. Thanks, I will keep following up with those folks in that case then.

Yes, thanks! I figured that out afterwards when I was finally transferred to the Ontario CFO office from the RCMP office and had to leave a message (never got back to me BTW). Initially they (RCMP) were the ones telling me to wait and it was in progress, and they would not transfer me over to CFO directly (strange)...

Wow, our BC CFO rocks. Application for transfer initiated yesterday, dealer emailed me with transfer approval number this afternoon.

Ontario cfo is a lazy mf'er. Bought a restricted on the 13th of july. Transfer was approved today. Yet my last transfer took 3 days. So fickle.

I used to get transfer done by 5-7 days but lately its been 14-days minimum

Out of curiosity has any one initiated a private transfer after July 10 and it has been approved already? I have been waiting since then and they are now not evening return my call when I call them. It is not for a prohib just a 1911 and it is not my first transfer.

Sold my m&p and initiated the transfer on july 6th. Still nothing. This is ontario to ontario.
