People like PMJ are what make this match great too. Completely selfless volunteers who just want to help.
I wasn't at this years match but did have a chance to reminisce with JPJ of Calgary policw in Brooks the same weekend (he's a good pistol shooter too).
Keeping in mind that I wasn't there, first time in 10 or so years I think, its always been my opinion that radioing the scores back was not needed, nor should shots be indicated after each relay either (I don't believe the latter was done this year). At the end of the day scores could be given at the radio shack, under the eye of fellow competitors (not team mates) you can inspect your targets and challenge your score. If you walk out of the room, or away from the "watcher" no challenges accepted. I've shot this way at other matches and it works fine. Indicated cold bore shots I could live with, and wouldn't argue against but don't feel they are necessary either. I've got no opinion on the penalty things as I'm not sure how that was done at the match. In IPSC however misses and hits on no shoots does incur penalties, for each stage but negative scores don't carry through to totals at the end. The worst you can do on a stage is zero. And yes I know this isn't IPSC.
The 4 day format doesn't appeal to me personally, however it wouldn't keep me from shooting the match either.
I am fully aware that if a person throws in opinions they should be willing to help out (which I have done many many times in the past). Should my schedule allow for me to be a part of next years match, I will be more than willing to help the match director as much as needed.
Kudos to Ed for another great match this year, your hard work is greatly appreciated, even if it doesn't always sound like it.
Juliet Lima, also a big thanks dude, everyone I've talked to was yet again amazed by the hard work you did too.
One thing I would like to see is more regional build up shoots for this match. Even if not at Volkes range. There is lots that could be done on shorter ranges around the province.
