Thanks Sean! Really happy with the build!!

Your post implies a factory 700 5R, but then you say 'build'- Which is it?

Either way, good shooting.

I accurized his action, set the bbl back, recut chamber and added a tac bolt knob. The bbl is still factory though. Very impressive. I've been meaning to ask you how it shot. Nice to know a factory rem can shoot so well but it could put me out of business lol :D

Nice work to you and Sean!

I am particularly impressed with how you did given it was -36C. If I tried shooting at -36C, I would have a nice 10 MOA group from all the shivering!

Just out of curiosity, why is the caliber subtracted from the ctc spread? Or is that measurement from extreme outside to extreme outside? That would make more sense to me.

Theses r5 are soooo cute . I have the same but completely stock.;)

I live near the 54 parrallel on quebec side ... was -47 today with the wind .

Try exactly the same recipe but with 42.5 gr , you wont beleive it.

Was making .319 group this summer with this load at 125 yards , so if i substract the bullet it was . 11

Give some update when you try it !!!!!!

By the way can i send you my bolt mrs Valdez ???

nice gun but the group is at least 1/2 inch, a true .308 group would be after the first bullet the second bullet would ALMOST JUST TOUCH THE FIRST BY
.001 this is at least 2 full bullets out making it a .550 to .625 group

sorry but true,

anyway nice gun and it looks good and will shoot decent groups I am sure,

Great rifles !!! Here's a target from mine, factory 5R.

Yes, I know it's only 3 rounds, but it's winter......... :D

5rtarget.jpg

Do you have a chrony data for that load ??

Will have to give a try with rl15 , all my 5r load have been done with varget .

Always impressed to see what theses rifles can do !!!!!

By the way nice shooting too!!!!!

I ran only about 5 rounds through the chrony, they were just under 2700 but the spread was under 15 fps all times, so pretty good IMO. Temp wasn't overly cold, about -10'C. I bought 3x5 lbs of RL15 some time ago on sale, so that's the main reason for using it. I also have Varget on hand but felt no reason to try it after that result and will save it for the 220 Swift.
