Results with barrel tuners and brakes

This the tuner on my Anschutz BR50 2013 in the picture. My best IBS score 981-48x with it.

I wanted a short tuner that can accept a globe front sight. I had the Harrel with weight before, and it worked well too, but did not allow a front sight.

After seeing what it does on mine, I ordered, on their behalf, 6 Lowey for Club members through the summer. Shooters use the Starik, Harrel on short barrel with SS weight and the short Lowey in IBS competition.
Those tuner are ordered with your rifle barrel diameter for perfect fit. So it’s not a ‘store’ shelve product.

You can see clearly the use of tuners. A top level shooter will not even think to be without it if allowed.
A tuner on a .22 is a big advantage. They work very well.

A tuner is a weight, even when not allowed, the front sight base ( see own long they are) can be slided back and forth to achieve the same effect. Those guy have access to ammo testing lab and when a lot work in their rifle, they got thousand of the same lot. They do not need to adjust their ‘tuner’, most of that shooting is inside or controlled range. So temperature and condition is not a factor.

One more time for clarity. Some 3P shooters use tuner/extensions. The majority do not. They use barrel extensions/bloop tubes without tuners.

Why? The most important thing for serious 3P shooters outside of a good rifle and training is a good lot of ammo. Thesee shooters get their ammo by testing. A good lot of ammo will provide a good shooter with a good rifle everything he needs to succeed. That's why the majority of 3P shooters compete without tuners.

To be sure, tuners work. That's not the issue. In RFBR tuners are very widely used. They are necessary to be competitive. But the same is not the case in 3P shooting.
