RESURRECTED - Talk to me about aftermarket X95 accessories

Ive had all 3 X95 buttpads, and I like the thin one better. Seems to shoulder perfectly. I also prefer the pistol grip.

The GHW port cover is a must to keep the blow back away from the face.

The Tav-D and Geissele Lightning Bow are a great upgrade if you want a more enjoyable range day, and faster double taps. But inst necessary.

Dilligaf, what is it specifically that you like about the pistol grip? Considering it but not sure if I really need it. Also, I am shooting Tac Rifle in Chilliwack and sometimes have to shoot off the left shoulder, would the GHW port cover help with that (although I am not sure about case deflection). That is the only thing stopping me from using it.

OP, hope you don't mind the questions. Thought they were relevant to your original question.

I’ve shot DILLI’s x95 with the pistol grip. It’s definitely comfortable compared to yours but I think it’s an individual thing. I’m very adaptable to different platforms so either one works for me.
The ejection issue is another thing. I believe when Lovie was here teaching the Tavor platform, she did not do any support side training. Guessing it’s not an IDF thing with the Tavor family. To effectively shoot them support side, you need to mount the rifle almost center of chest. I’ve had consistent jams with empties going back into the chamber after hitting my face using a T21 and a normal cheek weld. Never tried it with the x95 but I think it’ll be similar.

The pistol grip is more if an individual choice. Some prefer it some dont. Same as the grip panels. My wife likes this setup so I wont argue with her...lol

I do have a new deflector that angles the brass downwards for support side shooting but I seem to have lost it...lol... Once I find it ill give it a try.

Can you tell us where you got it from? Downward deflector.

Any dealers following this thread? Who has pistol grips, thin butt plates, IWI grip panels and port covers in stock?
I ordered an X95 9mm from Tenda just over a week ago and since they also had the thin butt plate in stock I ordered that as well. (Kinda choked they haven't shipped the order yet, or responded to emails or phone calls.) Found the pistol grip from Durham, the Lightning Bow from Arms East and some of the ASC pistol mags from SFRC. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the tip. Durham is the only site sponsor I know of who has both the pistol grip and thin butt pad.

My rifle just showed up today and for every feature that I like, there is another that is entirely foreign to me. The weirdest thing is how my right wrist rubs against the magwell. I have the 9mm model and have a bunch of short 10 round mags which might account for part of the situation, but I think the .223 version might actually exacerbate the issue as the mags are deeper (if that's the right dimension to describe) and their leading edge would therefore sit further forward and rub up against my wrist even more. I wonder if the thin butt pad would reduce the LOP enough to increase the angle of my wrist to avoid this contact. I am aware of the 6-point Israeli hold technique but I don't think my wrist is meant to rub against the mag, yet alone the sharp floor plate of a ten round 9mm one.

I haven't fired it yet so maybe it won't be a big deal once the fun starts flying down range. It is really cool and I've been searching for a reliable 9mm NR plinker through the process of elimination for a while so I have high hopes. Here's hoping!

Bringing this thread back to life.

Can anyone share their experience with upgrading the charging handle? I like the sounds of a folding one, the factory handle seems to get in the way a lot.

Thanks for looking at my old thread!

Hmmm...thanks.

I know that there are different charging handles out there though. Mine sticks out at the 10 o'clock position and rotates to about 8:30 before the bolt moves rearward. I've seen pictures of a fixed version though and I recall reading posts here about the different handles when the rifles first came to Canada.

But maybe you're right, although different versions are out there they may not be "available."
