Reticle drives me nutz

Right here on CGN...usually in the EE...I've seen reticle, reticule, retical, and even recital.

Of course, most of us know that reticle is definitely correct....or is that defiantly correct?

Whew I thought you were going to say Rectal

Selling a Mrad rectal scope.... hmmm?

You are wrong and so is your antiquated definition.
Grains/grams/milligrams are all units of mass not weight.
Mass is a constant and is the amount of matter in an object
Weight is the variable force of gravity acting on an object.
Your weight would be different (less) if you were on the moon as opposed to the Earth.
Your mass would remain the same.
When you get your degree in physics I will be happy to discuss this with you in depth
Degree? Pffft...I remember all that stuff from high school!

Don't blame it on spellcheck; the fault lies with people who are too lazy to even read their own comments before posting.

They're not willing to use their own brains to ensure there are no glaring mistakes.

Don’t forget the unfortunately famous host of “Meateater” and his pronunciation of “Rectical”.

How did I miss that one? I guess that's more an audible one; not sure I've ever seen it in print up till now. :)

From now on, I'm going to say "I'm going to leave a poop" instead of the more common "I'm going to take a poop."
Holy ####! You got away with saying poop! :)

It's not even laziness a lot of the time. It seems a lot of people are just clueless. Take this guy for example, a smarty pants reply with a grammatical error. Completely negates the response in my mind. Accuracy is a good thing.
Or perhaps it wasn’t an error and instead sarcasm that flew just over the head of some people…I read that post as obvious sarcastic bait which appears you took hook, line and sinker.
So sad when a subtle zinger misses its mark.
Short, simple, obvious, very funny and more so now.
Thanks for the morning chuckle, lol.

Was my response over your head? Or ill-conceived. I'm not sure

No I understand what you were trying to do there, please don't take what I said personally. Your post just illustrated a point I was trying make so perfectly I had to quote it. Your, you're, to, too etc are used incorrectly very frequently, I hope you would agree.

I think it is more of predictive reading, that many just over look, as they know the word. Your brain reads as the correct method.

Its like those meme that you read it correctly, till they point out what is wrong.

That could definitely be it, although I haven't seen the memes. I recently filled a case with the wrong propellant, and I thought i grabbed the right one initially. First time ive done this in many thousands of hand loads. I follow some precautionary measures when reloading and caught it before seating a bullet. The precautions are almost like proof reading in a way, paying attention to detail and getting it right. I think it's important everywhere, including spelling.
