Reticle not level to scope.

Is this common? I have a Falcon 4-14x FFP I have had for years. I only noticed recently that my reticle is not level to the scope turrets and I am assuming to the whole body. My scope reticle is aligned to a plomb and the scope level adjusted accordingly to sync. This evening I just noticed that my turret top turret was unusually off-level and with further investigation and with a few other levels that it was 4.1 degrees off. It doesn't bother me because I 've been managing without knowing that it was off all these years. Anyone have this same problem? Check out the evidence.

It could very well be when you shoulder the rifle, you compensate for level cross hairs.
I had a chap not long ago ask me the same thing as this.
His cross hairs were out, but in the wrong way.
I checked the rifle for empty and got him to shoulder it to aim.
I then stood in front of the barrel and looked at his position.
He cants the rifle one way. To correct his cant, it would of made it worse
than what it was.
Funny chit, people and the way they do things.
Don't fix what ain't broke.............for you anyways.
 
nope, never seen that before. If it works for you're use and not going to try to get it fixed, I'd turn it so it looks straight. How does the point of impact shift when you adjust it? I assume angled... crazy if not.

I'ved always used my scope level when shooting. So I don't really know. I will assume that it will dramatically change POI from shot to shot. I will try it next time I'm at LR practice.
 
Had a Burris do that once and reticle continued to rotate slightly more with each shot....definitely not normal.

Nothing wrong with angling your rifle so the stock fits more comfortable as long as the scope reticle is perfectly horizontal to the horizon. The OPs reticle is not aligned to his adjustment turrets... by a lot.
 
is that level on the scope body or on top of the turret itself? Turrets aren't necessarily going to sit level and even more so on a Falcon (neither of the Falcons I owned had turrets that were level to the reticle or to the bottom of the scope)

I just placed that level on the turret to measure and show the amount of yaw on that scope. The scope level attached to the scope is that little green one on the left (made it my self too :))

I just realized today at work that I had to adjust my scope level a few months ago to jive with my reticle. I am now thinking if this reticle misalignment is going to get worst. I wonder if this can be claimed in the warranty?I got this in 2009 from Allen Gunworks and they don't carry Falcon optics anymore :(

You're right. I missed a big bunch on the OP's thread start.
Something sure looks amiss now that I'm focused on what the heck is going on.
 
My Night Force isn't level with the housing or turrets although they specifically say they are supposed to be. It isn't nearly as bad as yours, but it isn't square and anyone with one eye and a level can see it. Oddly; it does seem to track straight up and down when the crooked crosshairs are level so I'm leaving it alone for now.
 
I had a Crossfire 2 do that on a 22Mag.
The new one hasn't done it yet.

Once it started it would move a little every shot. My OCD did not like it.
