I am looking at a new scope for medium to longer range varmint hunting say 400 yards out to 800 yards, mostly ground hogs and coyotes.
Up to this time I have used standard duplex reticles with the scope sighted to 200 yards and held over for long shots and not adjusted turrets in the field.
I have a laser rangefinder and use ballistic apps and range cards.
I see scopes like Nightforce with both field adjustable turrets and reticles with ranging hash marks - why do you need both?
Would I be better to use turrets to dial in the shot once I figure range and wind or use the reticle hash marks for hold over and wind?
Thanks,
dan
