Not looking to break the bank, no rails to mount anything. Show me what you've got, prefer something from earlier era where you had to make it yourself. Not looking for D cell maglite/duct tape combos, but I guess if it works.....

Playing around with an old AR that got prohibed last year, it was a mixmaster and just figured if I can't shoot it I might as well screw some stuff onto it. I have a Surefire with about a 1" body, and I have a 2 piece set of Rem 700 bases. Was thinking about screwing one to the handguard and mounting the light like that but sounds kinda hokey now that I typed it. Just looking for cheap creative ways to do this.

Well, I'm killing time in the shop today, too cold to do anything else. Shoveled the rink earlier but then the kids said they didn't want to skate.

Rigged up something with some misc pieces from a Zahal sling set (never found anything else they worked for), but its pretty ghetto. It works, but only sorta. The good thing is its reversible haha.

Let's see some other ghetto light mounts please. Show me what you dreamed up with crap you had on hand....

Duct tape if for amateurs, hose clamps are the way to go. If you want to be fancy you could add a few strips of old innertube to prevent scratching anything lol

Huge fan of zip ties here ;)

Hose clamp… I think I’ll try something on my AR just for fun.

I’m thinking… angled neck flashlight (issued of course) duct taped to the handguards of an old CAR15 clone. Front grip and flashlight combo :p

Well, let's see it! I'm hesitant to post mine, mostly because I don't want to get heckled by people who actually use this stuff day to day.

I’ll see if I still have an angled flashlight in my junk kit box for fun. If I do find one, expect a picture.

In all seriousness though, it’s usually those who don’t use the gear day to day and never used their setup outside of a flat range who judge. Zip ties, duct tape, 550 are all fair game in the real world :p

If it works, it works.

Apparently cruciform shape of glorious Soviet pig sticker was designed to keep lamp out of line with muzzle.

Make easier to find fascist pig in dark. Also make for easy quick detach of lamp.

Daughters apparently not impressed with tactical hair tie retention system lol

In the spirit of needing a mounted light in a hurry and not having the option of waiting for Amazon shipping, my result. A couple random pieces from a Zahal-ordered sling set and its sorta secure. Positioned so my thumb can hit the switch fairly easily, maybe not as good as a remote switch but hey. It does move a bit if shoved hard.
