Retro Scattergun Builds and Discussion Thread

Heres my 70s Wingmaster with cut down vent rib. Dont flame me the barrel was very rusty at the muzzle and i still have a 30" for the trap field.
I added a limbsaver pad and grizzly stock sleeve plus an ATI plus 2 that actually holds 3. Im not a huge fan of the looks of the ATI but the price was right.

What's that cut at, around 24"???
 
I like the 870 Police walnut with the factory +2 extension. Really throws empties and no problems. Has the limbsaver recoil pad on it. LOP is a bit long for me but I haven't found the heart to have it cut down.

After waiting some time to find the perfect host, and then a little more time for the work, she's finally done. '59 ithaca 37, brought down a few inches, with a big brass bead installed. Some things shouldn't be messed with...though sometimes they can be made better. A little smear on the receiver in that one pic. All original, and almost too pretty.

Hard rubber butt plate and no recoil pad - that ought to get your attention...

I am without words. As a fan of the period piece retros, thus is my end game. That 7180...a factory piece, or a project gun? Unbelievable. Hard enough to find pictures of the 7188/7180 family.

And the apple of my eye - the 37 Trench. Factory stamps? If so, I hope you don't mind if I message with a couple questions? Just wow.
 
I love all of these in their own ways. These are what I've got in mind for an 870 project. Wonderful thread.
 
"gwhysow"...all are projects guns - civilian receivers and barrels, but tried to keep serial number ranges and chokes close to military models of the time. Other parts original. I've done a fair bit of research on these, so may be able to help out with your questions.

FYI...Inland Manufacturing, in USA, https://www.inland-mfg.com/Inland-Shotguns/M37-Trench-shotgun.html, is now offering a repro M37 Trench Gun (in cooperation with Ithaca Gun Company, Ohio). I've seen and handled it - heat shield could be a bit more accurate, but all and all - not too bad.

Wow, awesome collection, and I'm counting three rare naval bayonet adaptors!
 
Some even more rare that others. I've been on the hunt for one for ages, as I'd *gulp* like to see if I could repro them without a full tooling.

Numrich used to have some of the heatshield/bayo mounts, but those have since dried up. Any leads?

I've long been researching the Ithacas (M&P, DSPS lineage) for an ebook, but so much of the information has been lost to time - really is a shame. Not to mention the fact that there were so few 'standard' configurations when they started going to law enforcement agencies in the 60's. Bugger of a thing.

Again, awesome collection. Color me green.
