I hand loaded a whole bunch of 300 Weatherby Magnum for a rifle I owned, and then for the friend I sold it to. I had some of that powder left over so I tried it in the 30 aught six and it was just not very good.Hodgdon has a concept that I find helpful. They package 4, 1/4 lb. containers in a box with four different powders for those reloaders to develop loads.
In the box, there was a 1/4 lb. of Retumbo. I'm loading 30-06. I have looked on line, but cannot find load data for this powder in this cartridge. Data for the .338 and .300 magnums are there.
My questions. Is Retumbo too slow of a powder for the 30-06? Or does somebody on CGN have data for this cartridge/powder combination? If the data isn't there, anyone want to buy a quarter pound of Retumbo? (jk)
Weird, it showed up as new posts (bolded text) in my feed. I never even looked at the date, i rarely do. - danYea ! YOU did on JUNE 20 !lol
