return of the AIA enfields possible?

It'd be great if you could get them here. but black blued metal not that awful grey stuff they put on the AIAs.

I disagree re the grey metal on the No4Mk4. I particularly like it.

They're well built rifles.

At least, the ones that AIA got in and did whatever quality assurance etc checks they did on them.

It would be nice to see a carbine and standard model offered, even a 22 and/or jungle would be interesting.

Making the shorter journey hopefully keeps the price lower than $1k and they'd do really well here

I've never seen such caterwauling in my life over the $699 or whatever they were selling for.

Can you see it being less than that?

Look at the prices collectible Enfields are going for.

I couldn't agree more....they received a lot of negative press (so does Trump and Trudeau doesn't...go figure, maybe not the best analogy but you get the point). I think they are a finely made, accurate rifle. I've got nothing but good things to say about them. Glad to have purchased one. People that say they were overpriced were out of touch with reality....did they expect them to be a couple hundred? My only regret is that I should have bought a few more "when they were so overpriced".
The purists find a lot of faults because it never went thru a military acceptance manufacturing process. Well if you consider the Brit's SA 80, the M16....those rifles were plagued with problems initially and they were certainly mil spec rifles. I appreciate a rifle made with quality parts: proper metals used, proper heat treating etc., I have not heard of component failures and the AIA products have been around for a while.
So all the people that were so critical of the AIA rifles...it's water off the ducks back for me.

I think the biggest problem was at the time these were for sale here you could still buy surplus no 4's from at least one company I think it was the one that got closed down after sell those ak bb guns that used real ak receivers. id love to have one in .308 or x39 but probably wont happen did the Canadian government look at AIA's for the replacement of the rangers no 4's

Yes the gov't briefly looked at them as a replacement for the Ranger program. It was a case again of bad press again......apparently some sub-par parts coming out of Vietnam etc, etc

Truly though if the Canadian gov't was serious about adopting this rifle these "apparent" details could have been all worked out with AIA....no problem. Colt Canada is manufacturing the replacement C19 (Tikka T3) in house......don't see why they could not have made some deal with AIA to do the same.

It's a shame they didn't pursue those options.....does anybody have much faith in our elected officials these days to make sound decisions? Especially the clown in office now.....I could drive down the road for a mile from my house and literally, probably find 10 people more qualified to run our country.....and I live out in the sticks!!

I buried 2 x x39's and 3 x JW103's away. For those that complain about the surplus ammo in the AIA's, just reload and avoid corrosive for a life-time rifle. I only use one JW103 for corrosive as it was bought used with pitting present. I would consider buying another AIA or variant again for sure. Great rifles.

If they can make them in .308/7.62 NATO with good quality and under $1000, with reasonably priced and available mags, yeah I would buy one in a heartbeat.

I remember when they had them at marstar and constantly debated on buying one. Cal 308, model options of carbine, precision, full wood. I really wanted that precision one would have been sweet for target shooting and hunting. I finally was gonna pull the trigger on one and... they were gone, I would definitely be interested if they came back depending on the price.
With the new law in, I can see these style of rifles really picking up.
