Reusing a take off barrel

I recently acquired a take of barrel in 300 RUM. It is threaded 1" 16 tpi with a barrel tenion length of 0.990" I believe it may have come from a sako (it is an aftermarket barrel of unknown make) I am wondering what I can repurpose it for. It seems like it should work on a Tikka T3. What about a push feed model 70 Winchester? Is it feasible to do this or more trouble than most smiths want? I had bought it just for the brake but the bore looks pristine and I wouldn't mind another ultra mag.

Unless you're stoked about keeping the original chambering, cut back the thread tenon far enough to clean up the chamber for another cartridge and install it on any receiver that's appropriate.

What about a post 64 model 70? Shorten the tenion a little bit and recut the chamber and I think it would work unless I am missing something?

How long is the cylinder in front of the tenon's shoulder and what diameter is it? This is what will determine if it can be used for a smaller cartridge or a different action.
