My wife's new CZ Shadow arrived today.

First thing I did was reverse the mag release as she is a lefty. The video I watched said that the screw holding the mag release spring was in TIGHT. He wasn't kidding!
She had me install a right side mag release in one of her 1911's and I liked it so well, I put one in a 1911, and I'm right handed - it works well for me as I have a small hand.
I find the same thing with her Shadow. I prefer the mag release on the right side as I can operate it with my trigger finger without losing my shooting grip like when the release is on the left side.

She does! New Blade Tech holster arrived same day as the gun, so we went to the range last night. 150 rds later, she was beaming with satisfaction and chomping at the bit for Friday's IDPA session.
Some of the ammo was commercial 124 gr RN, the rest my 147 gr handloads. The 124 gr printed slightly above and right of her POA; the 147 gr right on the money at 15 yds.
Single rds, double tap drills, 'two-in-the-body-one in the head' all no problem.

Just one issue - she has difficulty with the DA IPSC 'hammer down' start. The IDPA 'cocked & locked' is the way to go. I predict that she will be shooting more IDPA than IPSC with this pistol in future. For IPSC she will likely carry one of her 1911's.

I'm jealous as hell! She's already said - "Sell something and buy your own!"

Congrats to the misses...I'm sure she will love it...

Ha.ha....never doubted it....may be worth having a trigger job done, factory is good...but sorted is waaaaay better, takes the single action to another level..enjoy..

"If'n it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Once she puts a few thou downrange, we'll decide what the gun needs - or not. I believe there are spring sets available for the Shadow. She's savvy enough now to know what she wants in a gun.

One thing I can't 'splain is the fact that on ALL her other handguns, she had to close her non-master eye. With the red rod sight on the Shadow, she is shooting with both eyes open for the first time. Her front sight acquisition is much quicker and her groups much tighter than with her 1911's or SR9.

Smart man. All my pistols run that way, Nor sure why it doesn't catch on more, as for me, having it on the right side is way faster when doing reloads and getting back on target. I have medium large hands but it still works better.

Take Care
