Hi all :)

Just a tiny review.

Took my new toy out last Friday to do some shooting :-D. I put a Hawke 2x7 ir scope on it, because that's what suits my needs at the moment, I actually preferred it over the redfield battle zone. I found that the eye relief was faster for me with the Hawke.

Anyway, unboxing the rifle. You get 2 extra cheek pieces as well as 2 butt pads, all different sizes. Also one mag and the two piece picatinny rail. Oh, and a hard case.

Shooting :)

Wow, what a beautiful trigger. I was using cheap federal ammo 150 grain, roughly 23$ at Canadian Tire. I could shoot this gun all day, the recoil is minimal....... Kinda like a sks. While in the gun vise, it was grouping 2-2.5 moa, and while prone 1 moa... Not bad for budget hunting ammo.... :).

I'm not sure what else to say, so bring on any questions. I'll answer as best as I can.

good luck finding one, I will definetly not promote the place that sold me mine. They did not conduct themselves in a proper business manner, and i will never buy from them ever again.

Browning list it at 6.10Lbs
its closer to 10lbs.
BUDDY BOUGHT ONE AND IS PISSED OFF AS ITS WIEGHT
IS NOT AS ADVERTISED.

.

I think your buddy has the specs confused with the Bolt action short barrelled hog stocker.

Thanks for the review....would really like to see what it will do with some handloads...keep us posted!! Also waiting for Caramel to review his new FNAR Competition.

I checked the browning site and it does list its weight at 6lbs 10 oz for a shot show model....everything else I've seen always puts it around 9 lbs...misprint for sure!!!

If 10 pounds is too heavy for him the rifle isn't the problem....

10 pounds is too heavy for many applications. I'm 6' tall and have hoofed it up some pretty big mountains. I could lug around a 10 lb rifle all day, and lord knows I have, but depending on the hunt I wouldn't want to. Especially when advertised at a far lighter weight.

To me it would be like buying a rifle that was promised to shoot 1 MOA and finding out it will only do 3 MOA. Sure 3 MOA will do, but it would be a big letdown.

Thank you ! Well said.

Nice rig JP.
Is it accurate?

love the blue laminated.

On my 50 yards range at the farm with Federal GMM 168 gr, all bullets are touching true one hole, no merits, 50 yards is pretty short for such a rifle... Not before the snow melt in before i can try it at longer ranges 300 metres +... JP.

How do you get twice as good accuracy prone vs. in a vice?
