Review: Hatsan Escort MP-TS (Pump Action)

Great review, thanks. You'd be surprised at just how very few Hatsan shotgun reviews there are on YouTube by Canadians.

I own a number of Hatsan pumps, and at one point owned the green MP pump with the fixed pistol grip stock. Pretty much the exact gun you reviewed.

A few points;

- The gun you're reviewing actually appears to be the 20" version with an 8+1 capacity.

- The extended mag tube, is actually one piece. A neat feature that is often not initially noticed.

- The guns chamber is not technically chromed. What you see when the action is open is the elongated barrel insert that extends the length of the ejection port. Hatsan shares this design, along with other ones, with Fabarm. You will also notice the ejector is on the barrel insert too.

- I recommend using a dab of locktite on the receiver rail screws as they are known to come loose when the gun is new. Be sure to use just a little bit, and let locktite dry with the gun sitting upsidedown to prevent it from leaking into the action and on the closed bolt. (A user had their bolt seize shut from locktite dripping onto it)

- I also suggest tightening the heatsheild on a new gun, either before it's first outing or immediately after.

- Both the rear two dot and front fibre optic sights are adjustable. The rear for elevation and windage, and the front for elevation only.

- Aftermarket parts are available from Canadian dealer S&J Hardware such as a Remington stock adapter, sling mount plate, big button safety, no jam mag follower, and mag tube extensions. Alternative buttstock options are also available from Canadian dealer Corwin arms.

Again, great job. It's awesome to see these shotguns getting more Canadian press and exposure.

Thanks for some great info. I must have messed up since I could only fit 5 shells in mine. Annotation made to the video.

They seem to be very good quality for the price they go for. I am pretty happy so far :)

I don't think so, because the mag tube is all one piece.
By simply measuring the outside of the mag tube with a 2 3/4 shell you can tell the capacity (Saving room for the follower and coiled spring)

Thanks will do. I seem to have "misplaced" the muzzle cap that comes with the shotgun in the box. Any idea where I might be able to buy another one?

The thread protector? No sorry that's a hard part to come by.
Bell Outdoors is the Canadian Hatsan distributor maybe send them an email.
