Like the title says, has anyone done a review on the m14.ca mounts? They look pretty decent and anchoring it to the place where the rear sights are sound like a smart idea! But, correct me if I'm wrong, aren't the best and most stable mounts made of steel and not an Aluminum alloy? That's the impression I got from most of the mount reviewers on CGN. Thanks in advance for the comments and help!

Looking for a good review as well.Seen a couple but they never really got ''in depth'' was all kind of just based on looks and opinions not any actual range findings.Seems like there may be a couple problems inherent to the design to me was hoping someone could shed some light.

I too would be curious of a full range report and review.

Sadly, if I understand correctly, there were some issues between the designer and a prominent figure here on CGN, for reasons unknown the designer was banned from this site .. Thus I doubt any of the prominent figures on CGN will review is due to their allegiance.

I do wonder tho, why a steel one was never created?

I would buy a steel one if they made it. Alas, I will be getting an ARMS 18 hopefully by xmas. The last of the other parts are already en route including a M14Doc bolt disassembly tool! Can't wait :D

Frank, the owner of M14.ca and I had some recent discussions on this mount and I was also directed to M14RA.com for a full review by master M14 builder Art Luppino. I would suggest anyone wanting a review should visit Art's forum on M14RA.
I don't know of anyone who has performed an in depth torture test type review on this mount.

Holy crap that looks like it mounts high. Cheekrest mandatory Gobc ?

definitely recommended. I had a custom stock made by Bob Fortier and the check rest was up pretty high. But from my understanding, the M14 was designed for irons, so most scope mounts require a cheek rest anyways.

i have one will be testing it out this deer season (indain testing on haida gwii/QCI) my other polyteck will be backup just in case it dos not work us indains can be hard on are rifles haha

Hey... you natives put your rifles to the test! That's a good thing! :D Keep us posted on how it works out! You are wise (Don't buy ONE, buy TWO of them) and you took my advice, I see!

Cheers Mates!

Personally I would never go back to a Aluminum M14 mount. Steel all the way Baby!!!!! ;)......Smith Enterprises would be my first choice. :D

I tried one of the Aluminum SA 3rd Gen mounts and it was ok.......If you like having to hit the mount with a hammer/mallet to properly mate it to the reciever............and if you can get one cheap enough........
