Review of Laurona 12 ga O/U from TradeEx

If I can get pictures of my $350 Sarriugarte O/U and $295 Llama Franchi I'll post them as well. I am at least as satisfied with my O/U as you fellows are and am told that Sarriugarte's lower end guns were on par with Browning Citori's. Mine has no rust and was well taken care of.

When ordering them, Anthony said that the condition of the shotguns that he got were less than expected and that he does not expect to get any more from the importer that he was dealing with. There were still one or two decent O/Us and maybe a couple SxS when I last checked that would still make a nice deal.

In Toronto, the guns from Tradeex arrive in about two days from ordering!

Great service.

I wish I had a camera to take a few pictures of my $225 Lanber O/U. I'm happy with it! The condition was listed as 'good', so there are some scratches and marks on the stock, and a few scratches to the bluing, but mechanically it's great. Also some rust on the receiver through the scrollwork, but in the future I might powdercoat it. For the price it's in great shape. After I start using it, it's certainly not going to look any prettier!

If I had the cash I'd pick up a cheap SxS just so I have a bit of choice :)

One thing that it needs is the recoil pad trimmed down so it fits the butt properly - how do you guys cut these things properly? I need to make it about 1/8" narrower on each side.

OK - I just picked up the last Sarriugarte O/U. From the photos Anthony sent, it looks to be the nicest gun that he has left.

I think it will be fine within the limitations of it being 2-3/4, lead shot only, fixed mod/full chokes.

You should be very happy with your new shotgun. I researched the Spanish gunmakers carefully before making my pick, as they vary from mediocre to the very best. I'll probably stick to my IC/M 20 ga SxS for early season and take out the O/U after the leaves fall from the trees.

With Regards,

Frank
